Disposable sputum suction tube is used for clinical extraction of tracheal sputum or secretion. Disposable sputum suction tube sputum suction action should be light and steady. The sputum suction time should not exceed 15 seconds, and the suction device should not be used continuously for more than 3 minutes.
Operation method of disposable sputum suction tube:
(1) Check whether the connection of each part of the aspirator is perfect and whether there is air leakage. Turn on the power supply, open the switch, check the performance of the aspirator, adjust the negative pressure. Generally, the negative pressure of sputum suction in adults is about 40-50 kPa, and sputum suction in children is about 13-30kPa. The disposable sputum suction tube is placed in water to test the attraction and flush the tube.
(2) Turn client's head to nurse and place treatment towel under jaw.
(3) Insert disposable sputum suction tube, the order is from oral vestibule to cheek to pharynx, all parts of the suction. If oral sputum aspiration is difficult, it can be inserted through the nasal cavity (it is forbidden in patients with skull base fracture). The sequence is from nasal vestibule to inferior nasal meatus to posterior nasal foramina to pharynx to trachea (about 20-25cm), and the secretions are sucked up segment by segment. If there is an endotracheal intubation or tracheotomy, it can be inserted into the intubation or tube to suck out the sputum. Coma patients can use a tongue depressor or mouth opener to open the mouth first, and then attract.
(4) Intracheal sputum aspiration, when the patient inhaled, quickly insert the catheter, from bottom to top side while the side of the left and right rotation of the catheter, eliminate airway secretions, and pay attention to observe the patient's breathing. During suction, if client has a bad cough, wait for a few moments before inhaling. Flush the suction tube at any time to avoid sputum clogging.
(5) After the suction, close the aspirator switch, discard the sputum aspirator catheter in a small bucket, insert the glass connector of the suction hose into the disinfectant bottle on the bed bar for reserve, and wipe the patient's mouth. Observe the amount, color and properties of the aspirated liquid, and make records if necessary.
Disposable suction tubes are sterile products, sterilized by ethylene oxide and valid for 2 years. Restricted to one-time use, destruction after use, no repeat use. Therefore, the use of disposable suction tubes does not require patients to clean and disinfect themselves.
